Description

Here's a trailer for "George M. Cohan Tonight!"--written, arranged, and directed by Chip Deffaa, and starring Jon Peterson as the original "Yankee Doodle Dandy." Hailed by the New York Times as "brash, cocky, energetic, and endlessly euphoric," this one-man musical play has received rave reviews everywhere from NYC to Seoul, Korea. It is available for licensing from the Fifi Oscard Agency, 110 W. 40th St., NY, NY 10018 (attention: Peter Sawyer, President; PSawyer@fifioscard.com, 212-764-1100) or from Chip Deffaa Productions LLC (Footloose518@aol.com, 973-684-3340). Inspired by the life and songs of George M. Cohan, this musical play was originally produced Off-Broadway in New York City by the Irish Repertory Theater--Charlotte Moore, Artistic Director; Ciaran O'Reilly, Producing Director. It has subsequently been produced in New Orleans, LA; Rochester, NY; Stoneham, MA; Waterbury, CT; Worcester, MA; Coral Springs, FL; Holmdel, NJ; Stowe, VT; Salem, NY; Minneapolis, MN; Edinburgh, Scotland; London, England, and many other cities. ASCAP award-winner Chip Deffaa has also written and directed such shows as "One Night with Fanny Brice," "The Seven Little Foys," "Theater Boys," and "Irving Berlin's America." Master song-and-dance man Jon Peterson (who previously starred in the national tour of "Cabaret," among many other credits) has been honored by the Drama League, won a Bistro Award, and received a Drama Desk Award nomination for his portrayal of Cohan. In the show, Peterson performs his own choreography. Next productions of "George M. Cohan Tonight!" (in 2014-2015) will be in Miami and Coral Springs, Florida.
