Texas's Unfinished US-Mexico Border Wall Could Cost Billions

Description

Close to the southern tip of Texas, a border wall suddenly ends. Its final post sits in a dry cornfield half a mile from the nearest bend in the Rio Grande river, the actual border with Mexico. Finishing the some 1,300 miles of fencing proposed in the state is daunting since most border land is privately owned and materials could cost $10 billion. What stands in Texas is a fragmented series of fencing with rust colored bars that must reach a height of 18 feet. Republican presidential candidates insist they will finish it. But completing the Texas part of the wall would be a daunting task. Pamela Taylor, whose Texas home sits behind the wall on the side facing Mexico, said the wall is a waste of money. http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/jan/01/unfinished-us-mexico-border-wall-texas-secure-fence-act http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
