The Wilder School's Center for Public Policy hosted a symposium on Thurs., April 14, which featured experts discussing how we think about and respond to terrorism and radicalization in open society. The speakers were Pete Simi of the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Nebraska Omaha; Frank Smyth of Global Journalist Security; Scott Sayare, an American writer and reporter living in Paris; Omar Adullah, an Iraqi-born student at the Wilder School who's double-majoring in homeland security and emergency preparedness and political science; and John Wyman, supervisory special agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Natalie Baker, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness program, moderated.
