She is a proudly involved faculty member at American River College but equally enjoys her public speaking class at UCD where the undergraduates remind her of her two daughters. Alisa’s family is a family of dancers. Starting with tap and ballet at the age of 5, Alisa dabbled in almost every form of dance she could think of until discovering Argentine Tango with her husband Mike in 1994. Mike y Alisa have been devoted tango dancers ever since. In her spare time Alisa likes to get sweaty in Zumba, Bikram Yoga, and running. Last year she completed her first marathon. Alisa is a digital immigrant who mostly keeps her social media profile private. People often ask her “how many pairs of shoes do you have?” This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
