Georgia Governor Vetoes Concealed Carry On College Campuses

Description

On Tuesday, Georgia governor Nathan Deal said he has vetoed a bill permitting concealed handguns on college campuses. This was a rejection of a proposal that was easily approved by a legislature controlled by his own party during an election year. The bill would have allowed anyone age 21 and over to carry a concealed handgun with the appropriate permit on a public college or university campus. The veto decision occurs weeks after the Republican governor rejected a bill protecting opponents of same-sex marriage. That measure was supported by conservative groups but criticized by more than 500 Georgia companies as discriminatory. http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/may/03/georgia-governor-vetoes-concealed-carry-college-campuses http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
