Having a touchscreen monitor is great, however sometimes it may not be responding well or you may even want to turn the feature off. In this video, we will go over some ways to keep it operating smoothly as well as where to find the controls. First of all, keeping the screen clean is essential. Wipe it with a lint-free cloth and it’s recommended to use proper cleaning solution. Visit our video on how to properly clean your computer https://youtu.be/8vL_s2n0MV8. Moving any metal objects away from the screen, such as keys or metal cups, will also help your touchscreen respond better. Calibrating your touch screen every so often is also a good practice. Type control panel in the start menu and open it, and select the tablet PC settings option. In the display tab, click calibrate and follow the on-screen instructions, save the calibration data, and restart your computer. To turn your touch screen feature off or on, type device manager in the start menu and open it. Look for human interface devices and expand it. Here is where you find the touch screen listed. To disable your touch screen, simply right click on the icon line HID compliant touch screen and click on disable. When you want to turn it back on again, follow the same steps and click on enable. For troubleshooting, double click on the HID compliant touch screen to open the properties tabs. The first tab general has the device status, and tells you if the device is working properly or not. If it is not working properly, then you may need to update the driver. The next tab, driver, provides all the driver information you need to know including a button to update driver. Clicking on it opens a new window with the options of how to search for an update. Unless you are comfortable with this type of process, selecting the search automatically option is advised. After you have updated your driver restart your computer and try out your touchscreen. If your touchscreen is still not functioning make sure it is enabled. If you are still having problems then you should contact one of our tech support personnel through one of our social media channels on Facebook or Twitter and they will be happy to assist you.
