Description

Part of the Al Christie "Darktown Birmingham" series featuring The Lafayette Players Stock Company. Features Spencer William, who would go on to play Andy in the 50s TV series Amos and Andy. Despite the stereotypes these films are important as they were made with black actors for black audiences (thus 'race films'). Very few of these exist (Preer made dozens of films, but only 3 exist.) These were some of the first race talkies ever. Sorry for the watermark, I just don't want to see these on ebay...
