Martha Goldman Sigall worked at MGM and Hanna-Barbera. She talks about the beginnings of Tom and Jerry, the closing of MGM's cartoon studios, and the founding of Hanna-Barbera. Hanna-Barbera became the leading cartoon studio from the 1960s through the 1980s. They created the Jetsons, Flintstones, Magilla Gorilla, Top Cat, Scooby Doo, the Smurfs, Snagglepus, Powerpuff Girls, and many others. Martha Sigall worked in the animation industry for 53 years. She began with Leon Schlesinger's Merrie Melodies & Looney Tunes in 1936 and later worked for MGM, Warner Brothers and Hanna-Barbera. Everybody but Disney. She was there when Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Roadrunner, Sylvester & Tweetie, the Jetsons, Flintstones, Beanie & Cecil, and many others were created. She worked with Tex Avery, Ben Hardaway, Mike Maltese, Fris Freleng, Mel Blanc and many more. Her book, "Living Life Within the Lines: Tales from the Golden Age of Animation," came out when she was 88. It became a bestseller and helped her earn an Annie Lifetime Achievement Award.
