Description

The cameraman from Rhode Island who caught the virus while on assignment in Liberia is Ebola free. He got the good news from his doctors early Wednesday morning, and he’s now able to go home. In a series of tweets sent out after he learned he was free from the disease, Ashoka Mukpo said, “Ebola free, and feeling so blessed. I fought and won with lots of help.” And “Still thinking about those nurses. Look forward to the day you too get news like this,” referring of course to the two American nurses still recovering from Ebola. Mukpo first began showing signs of the disease earlier this month when he was on assignment with NBC in Liberia. He doesn’t know how he was actually infected. Blood tests, confirmed by the Centers for Disease Control, show he is free of the virus and he is allowed to leave the biocontainment center. http://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/ebola-virus-outbreak/nbc-news-freelancer-ashoka-mukpo-declared-free-ebola-n231061 https://twitter.com/unkyoka Support Indymedia!
