Description

A new report reveals that Turkish president in November threatened to let the asylum seekers pour into the European Union member states if the bloc didn’t offer Ankara a better funding. The Greek website euro-today has published the minutes of a meeting between Rejep Tayyip Erdogan and E-U officials Jean-Claude Yoonker and Donald Toosk. The document quotes Erdogan as saying that Ankara would put the refugees on buses if the EU does not come up with a good deal. The Turkish leader has purportedly given the warning after EU officials agreed to half of the six billion-euro fund Erdogan had demanded to keep the refugees inside Turkish soil. Three months after the deal, the European Union says the situation of the asylum seekers in Turkey has not improved.
