Additional photographs at: www.facebook.com/AaronMorrisPhotography The Stephens Municipal Building in Stephens, Arkansas, was destroyed by a fire that began around 10:30 p.m. on June 11, 2015. The Stephens Fire Department responded to the blaze to find fire burning from the back and roof of the structure. The department was assisted with manpower from Buena Vista Volunteer Fire Department, Elliott Volunteer Fire Department, and Chidester Volunteer Fire Department. Crews were on the scene for 20 hours extinguishing hot spots in the 100-year-old structure, which housed the city hall, police department, mayor's office, city council, chamber of commerce, circuit court, local revenue office, and water department. U.S. Highway 79, which runs directly in front of the structure, was closed for over 36 hours due to the fire and risk of collapse. No deaths or injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
