For More: http://wanderlust.com/journal/rodney-yee-and-colleen-saidman-vital-questions/ Rodney Yee and Colleen Saidman ask the hard questions about faith, spirituality and healthy sexuality in this talk from Wanderlust’s speakeasy. Through their insightful question and answer session we learn about the journey that led them to yoga as well and the difficulties we all face in our daily lives. Colleen urges listeners to realize their potential and understand that no matter what life may throw at you, you are enough. Rodney delves into the importance of meditation and how an active practice can bring peace, balance and serenity. In this revealing back and forth we learn more about them both and how to ask ourselves what we really need. Introduced to yoga in 1987, Colleen found herself drawn to practice after a lifetime of activity. Finding it not only to be healing, but inspirational as well, she made it her mission to spread the word. A graduate of Jivamukti’s 1998 teacher-training program, Colleen opened her own studio, Yoga Shanti, in Sag Harbor, in 1999. She has taught several yoga teacher trainings at Yoga Shanti, some with her husband, Rodney Yee. “Yoga is basically about relationships and in any relationship it’s about listening.” Rodney Yee Rodney is an accomplished author and teacher who co-founded Piedmont Yoga Studio in Oakland, California, in 1987, and is the creator of dozens of yoga DVDs through Gaiam. He is the author of “Yoga: The Poetry of the Body” and “Moving Toward Balance.” Together both Rodney and Colleen helped to create Urban Zen’s Integrative Yoga Therapist Program, Donna Karan’s worldwide initiative.
