Description

Teaser trailer for A Bunch of Actor's debut production for the Brighton Fringe - 'comic odyssey into the obscure' A Still Life. STORY: Awaking in a mental hospital with no idea how she got there or who she is, Jude begins a comic odyssey into the obscure, where reason is treason, sanity is a sickness and the only truth is that everything is a lie. Self-proclaimed genius psychologist Dr Proctor, intent on diagnosing Jude with Proctor Syndrome, his simpleton assistant Cardigan, 'disorderly' orderly Ford, an idiot savant named Serenity, and the enigmatic Kahleela all conspire to lead Jude through an existential maze of moral conundrums, mind-bending psychobabble -- and the dreaded 'Shock Therapy.' A Still Life is a darkly comic and moving play where nightmares are real and reality is merely an illusion -- and challenges what it means to be insane, or even sane. WHO: The production features a talented 'bunch' of actors all new to Brighton, including London comedy show Newsrevue alumni Rebecca Probyn (Treason Show, Shocktoberfest) as Jude and Ian Angus Wilkie (ITV sitcom Barbara, Annie) as Dr Proctor, and is written and directed by Treason Show regular writer/performer Christophe Philipps (Treason Show, The Opinion Makers), who will appear as Ford. A Still Life also features Michael Armstrong (The Delivery of Sanctuary) as Cardigan, and Rachel Cohen (The Importance of Being Earnest) as Serenity and Kahleela. WHERE & WHEN: At Upstairs at the Three and Ten (10 Steine Street, Brighton, BN2 1TE) as part of Brighton Fringe. Friday 16th, Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th May at 3pm Tuesday 27th & Wednesday 28th May at 7pm Tickets: £9.50 (£8 concs) Friday 16th preview: £8. Lasts approx. 85 mins.
