US FL: Physics Professor Records Lightning at 7,000 Frames Per Second May 19 and 20

The Florida Institute of Technology released videos on May 24 showing lightning during storms on May 19 and May 20 about six miles from the Florida Institute of Technology campus in Melbourne, Florida. They were recorded at 7,000 frames per second using a high-speed camera by professor Ningyu Liu at the Geospace Physics Laboratory, according to a press release. The first video was uploaded to the Florida Institute of Technology?s YouTube channel. The second two were sent to Storyful directly from the school. All of them should be considered cleared for use.
