Description
In today's gaming industry just about any successful game will get a sequel. But that's not always a good thing. We've made a list of sequels that were disappointing, misguided or just plain broken. Get ready for the top 5 worst sequels in gaming. Dragon Age 2 - Electronic Arts Dragon Age 2 isn't a bad game, it's just a major letdown compared to its excellent original. BioWare swapped the open-ended rpg elements with gameplay that would be more at home in an action game. The many repeated environments were a further indication that this sequel was nothing more than a rush job. Deus Ex: Invisible War - Eidos Interactive Deus Ex was a revolutionary title that truly left a lot to live up to. Unfortunately the much-hyped sequel Invisible War felt like a dilution of the original formula. Gone were the cool RPG and stealth elements in this sequel that felt more like a generic shooter. It took seven years before the excellent Deus Ex: Human Revolution returned the series to its former glory. Perfect Dark Zero - Microsoft Game Studios A new game from the creators of GoldenEye and Perfect Dark for a brand new powerful game console seems awesome right? Wrong! Perfect Dark Zero was a hugely disappointing follow-up to one of the best FPS games of its era. It had a loopy, futuristic sci-fi plot, boring multiplayer and lackluster graphics. Perfect Dark Zero turned out to be the beginning of the end for the once great developer Rare. Devil May Cry 2 - Capcom The original Devil May Cry had lush visuals, immensely satisfying action and a thoroughly likeable protagonist. None of these things returned in the sequel. Devil May Cry 2 somehow looked worse than the original. And the strategy-based combat was transformed into a boring hack and slash fare. Oh, and Dante is also a lot less funny in this game. Duke Nukem Forever - 2K Games Granted, anyone who expected the 15 year wait for Duke Nukem Forever to actually be worth it was nuts. But we hoped the ridiculously long development period would have reaped something a little more fruitful than this massively underwhelming sequel. Duke Nukem Forever looked awful despite its long load times and the once funny Duke couldn't even put a smile on our faces anymore.
