Description

On July 19th we were witness to one of the most electrifying atmospheres in UFC history. Homegrown talent Conor McGregor took on Diego Brandao at Dublin's O2 Arena for UFC Dublin - Fight Night 46. This was the first time in 5 years that the UFC set foot in Ireland. The event set records from the offset when tickets sold out in under 3 minutes, and we your T&T regulars, Wezz & Jack, managed to bag ourselves a pair! You can see the video blog of our time there above. We have been to many MMA shows in our time, but none have been as rawkus as this. It was announced after the show that when Conor McGregor won via first round TKO the sound level reached 111 decibels, equivalent to a rock concert. Dana White had this to say when some fans questioned the noise levels at UFC Dublin: They were like, yeah but Seattle had 135 decibels? And I was like, yeah and Seattle had sixty thousand more people. Ireland wins! It’s crazy man. It’s amazing, it’s fun...on TV people were going crazy, being here live it was crazy. You can read our live review of the fights here. There is no doubt that UFC Fight Night: McGregor vs. Brandao will go down in the history books as one of the most breathtakingly explosive nights in the history of UFC outside of American soils. It was the most watched event on UFC Fight Pass since it's inception in late 2013. I can't wait for the UFC to go back to Ireland, and the Irish fans that night made sure it will happen. Next stop for us? UFC Fight Night: Sweden, on October 4th. See you there!
