Description

Neurobiologists have discovered a plethora of sea creatures more than 1,400m below sea level at Osprey Reef, 350km north east of Cairns. Lead researcher Justin Marshall explained that learning more about these creatures' primitive eyes and brains could help neurosciences to better understand human vision. Much of our knowledge on how nerve cells function and communicate was first pioneered through work on giant squid nerve cells.
