May Is Nigh Upon Us - 209P/LINEAR Bitter Celestial Object Meteor Shower/Storm Part 2

Description

Comet 209P/LINEAR is one of the best chances in recent years for the appearance of a new meteor shower and in May. On the peak of the Eta Aquariids on May 6th (thanks to Comet Halley), the action begins. And as the Eta Aquariids come to an end on May 28th, Comet 209P/LINEAR is widely forecasted to be one awesome grand finale to May meteor shower activity on May 29th. But, 209P/LINEAR caught us by surprise, discovered only 10 years ago, and first identified as an asteroid because it was dim and the coma and tail was faint. This "puny" condition reveals the nucleus is on "its last legs," and it is because of this, other conceivable possibilities exist with this periodic comet that could spell a significant hazard for Earth now or at any time in the future. To all in North America and the Midwest USA - you have the best view in the house for the end of May passing of Earth through 225+ years of orbital tail debris. This video is #2 in the series and is an update focused on our close encounter with Comet 209P/LINEAR and Earth going directly through all the trails ejected from the comet from 1803 to 1924 and even earlier orbits and debris lost from previous perihelia, as has been recently calculated. The video has some updated images and a model diagram of the debris Earth will encounter. See the first video for more diagrams and information on this. New spacecraft being developed with infrared telescopes for launch within a few years shows these types of dim objects that physically interact with Earth are threats as NEOs and/or can become such. In the least, they are reminders of our future date with a bitter celestial object and so along with Comet Siding Spring, Comet 209P/LINEAR is now also on the Bitter Celestial Object (BCO) Scale. Thanks so much for watching, and a big thank you for those who watched Part 1 in this Series either on the Humanspan channel or through Envylife channel (by permission only) for a total of 4000+ views with 59 thumbs up and 1 thumb down. A special thank you for those who subscribe to the Humanspan channel and encourage us to continue with videos focused on "Subjects Pertaining To Us All" and that originate from realms our eyes cannot readily see.
