Description

One of the most popular versions of the hit ballad, recorded at Vallee’s final Columbia session before returning to the Victor/Bluebird fold. The Mervyn LeRoy-Busby Berkeley magic was working overtime in Warner Brothers’ classic film musical “Gold Diggers Of 1933.” Joan Blondell, Warren William, Dick Powell & Ruby Keeler starred, and Harry Warren & Al Dubin wrote the songs: “The Gold Diggers’ Song (We’re In The Money,” “Shadow Waltz,” “Pettin’ In The Park,” “Remember My Forgotten Man” and “I’ve Got To Sing A Torch Song,” which was issued on the flipside of Vallee’s “Shadow Waltz” and is also posted to this channel.
