Description

Roma defeated Napoli 2-1 at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday evening in Serie A. In their first chance after the break, the Giallorossi would take the lead through Marquinho. The ball fell to the feet of the Brazilian who ran onto the bouncing ball and hit it first time with his drilled effort sailing past Rosati to the delight of the home crowd. Destro, after coming so close to scoring in the first half, would get his goal, controlling the ball neatly inside the area and turning to baffle the Napoli back line, sending his shot toward goal. Rosati got a hand to the effort, which was not particularly well hit, but could not keep the ball from agonisingly dribbling over the line. Destro ran round the goal to celebrate as Rosati punched the air in frustration at his mistake. Walter Mazzarri's men managed to get one goal back thanks to Cavani after Bogdan Lobont failed to punch clear an in-swinging free kick leaving the Serie A top scorer to sweep up and half the deficit.
