The Transporter gets a deal for three new installments, but will Jason Statham be returning? The Transporter was a huge action thriller trilogy that finished up its third and final installment back in 2008, but that didn't mean that the story was over for good. In 2012 a television series kept the Transporter legacy going with Chris Vance starring as the courier and martial artist transporter, Frank Martin. A role that Jason Statham originated in the first three films. THR is reporting that the creative forces behind the successful franchise just struck a deal between Luc Besson's EuropaCorp and a Chinese production company called Fundamental Films to co-finance Transporters 4 through 6, with each film budgeted at around $30-$40 million, and at least one of those will be shooting in China. There is, however, no word on whether Jason Statham will be back to continue Frank Martins legacy. As you all know, Statham has moved on to other huge action franchise movies like Fast & Furious and The Expendables, so we aren't sure if this franchise is something that he even has time for or would be interested in returning to.
