Description

Lebanese government says it's taking steps to remove garbage in Beirut immediately. In the streets outside the government office, are not just waste but also angry protesters who aren't baking down. The trash crisis underscores a deeper political crisis plaguing the tiny country of an estimated five million. Lebanon's government, marked by factional disputes, is repeatedly deadlocked on taking action on a broad range of matters including who will collect Beirut's trash. CCTV's Stephanie Freid in Beirut filed this report.
