Korea saw off Belgium 2-1 in a cracking Quarter Final in the Women's Hockey World League. Belgium got off to flyer, a goal inside the first minute. Judith Vandermeirens' cross volleyed in by Barbara Nelen. Korea almost hit back immeadiately. Se Na Cha found Da Rae Kim on the right and unleashed a powerful reverse stick shot from the edge of the D that whistled paste the post. Belgium should have gone two up. Louise Versavel in space on the right found Alix Gerniers unmarked in the D who shot straight at Sin Hye Lee. It was end to end action. Korea equalised after Mi Hyun Parks' ball into the D ricocheted off Belgian skipper Stephanie Rummens shin pads into the goal. Korea took the lead after another heavy deflection. Lovely play from Kim Jong Eun to ghost past two defenders, her shot hit Belgian keeper Aisling D'Hooghe and bounced into the net. Korea had the first chance of the second half. A slick counter attack up the pitch Seul Ki Cheon and Captain Hye Lyoung Han linked up well. Cheons' shot was turned round the post by D'Hooghe. Belgium were unlucky not to be level. A well worked penalty corner saw Stephanie De Groofs' shot hit the post. Sin Hye Lee kept Korea in front, she denied De Groof from another Belgium short corner routine. A deserved victory for Korea. Belgium battled and probed; but the defence stood strong to withstand the onslaught and now Korea move on to face Germany in the Semi-Finals.
