Description

From their forthcoming album ‘Reconstruction’, Hunted is a dark, brooding, bumping track with a driving synth bass line and drums that march the listener off to ideological war with a society hell bent on the vampiric consumption of all of Africa's precious natural resources. It was inspired when Jimmy John's sandwich founder Jimmy John Liautaud had photos leaked of him posing with a leopard and elephant he'd killed on safari in Africa. The idea that it was allowed to happen made its discussion important enough for inclusion, and it got the band thinking about how the rest of the world pilfers Africa's resources away without any real checks and balances. The production was designed to give the listener a beefy blend of sonics that were inspired by the likes of Giorgio Moroder and Nile Roders on the low end. The highs are wrought with romantic strings and twinkly arpeggiators. The vibe is universally dystopian and militant, which is a perfect backdrop to the lyrical subject matter. The eclectic blend oozes with synthetic depth and soul.
