Description

(c)1997 FOX Sports -- News Corporation; NFL; Nike; McDonald's; Pabst Brewing Company; Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company; Chrysler Group LLC/Fiat; Advance Auto Parts (own remnants of Western Auto) and Verizon (successor to Bell Atlantic) Closing of the Week 11 match between the Washington Redskins and Detroit Lions; which Washington won 30-7. We begin with Thom Brennaman (calling the game with Ron Pitts) tossing to sideline reporter Brett Haber (who had just joined FOX station WTTG not long before) interviewing Redskins running back Terry Allen. Once the interview concludes; Thom and Ron discuss their next stop (staying close to call the Ravens-Eagles game the following week); review the Energizer Play of the Game (a pick-six by reserve Redskin defensive back Darryl Pounds; who entered when Cris Dishman was injured); look at the standings (the win put Washington within half a game of first place in the NFC East) before going back to Haber for an interview with Pounds. Following a commercial break consisting of spots for Nike Air Jordan's (featuring Michael Jordan as "CEO Jordan" {uploaded separately}); McDonald's (guy picking up lunch for co-workers); Old Milwaukee; Goodyear (Tire Sale); Dodge Durango (1990s Dodge spokesman Richard Herrmann; Plymouth Neon; Western Auto's Parts America division; and Bell Atlantic (James Earl Jones and artwork based on Maurice Sendak's Where the Wild Things Are) Thom & Ron finish with their final thoughts (including a shot of Detroit slipping to 4th place in the NFC Central; with Minnesota and the defending champion Packers tied for first, with much-improved Tampa Bay 1 game back) before we get something you generally don't see much of at the end of games; especially in the regular-season -- closing credits.
