Description

China won't accept or recognise the ruling of the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague on South China Sea case, China Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lu Kang stated in a press conference in Beijing, Tuesday. SOT, Lu Kang, Spokesperson of China Foreign Ministry (Mandarin): "We didn't recognise nor accept it since the very beginning. So, there won't be any judicial relationship that might lead to any possible legal effects between us and the illegal and so-called court of arbitration. And we will not accept any kind of so called materials provided by them." SOT, Lu Kang, Spokesperson of China Foreign Ministry (Mandarin): "For the arbitration results, demanded by the Philippines unilaterally, actually everyone knows our position three years ago. This is nothing new. What I want to say is actually at the very beginning, the court of arbitration is established by the illegal activities and illegal quests by the Philippine government. So the existence of these organisations is illegal. So the arbitration result of these organisation is never effective." SOT, Lu Kang, Spokesperson of China Foreign Ministry (Mandarin): "Talking about influence of the ruling: if the arbitration results worsen the conflicts between related parties or raise the tensions, then the results negative affect might be harmful for the common interest of all parties in this area. Talking about its influence on China, I don't think it could have any affect on our current policies. With or without something like this, our policies to safeguard our sovereignty and interest will be consistent."
