There Must be a River is a journey of the Indus River told through thousands of years of folklore, myths and legends by people living along its banks. This documentary follows this river of antiquity, covering over 3000 km of geography and five millennia of history, back to a time when a string of sophisticated cities flourished along it banks. One of the longest rivers in the world, it rises from Tibet, flows west across India and south through Pakistan, where today it serves as the lifeline for the people living along its banks. This documentary is a journey along Indus River from its source in Tibet, to its final destination into the Arabian Sea. This voyage leads us from the ruins of intricate metropolises, capturing stories of love, war, divinities and human struggle, to the challenges this river and its people face now, through one of the most divers landscapes of the world, where the past still echoes today.
