https://thegoldentornadoes.bandcamp.com/track/marshal-neys-mistake This is a brand new surf-track, which was never played by the original band. After the release of my heartscore album I am in the mood for something else and the new Guild guitar inspires me to write for this genre. When I had finished this track the rhythm-guitar reminded me on trotting horses, while the lead guitar sounds like gallopping and I remembered a great history-movie from the 70s, which tells the battle of „Waterloo“. During this famous battle Marshal Ney, one of Napoleon’s commanding officers and called „the bravest of the brave“, made a mistake with serious consequences: „Ney noted an apparent exodus from Wellington's centre. He mistook the movement of casualties to the rear for the beginnings of a retreat, and sought to exploit it. Following the defeat of d'Erlon's Corps, Ney had few infantry reserves left, as most of the infantry had been committed either to the futile Hougoumont attack or to the defence of the French right. Ney therefore tried to break Wellington's centre with cavalry alone“ If you want to learn more: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Waterloo#The_French_cavalry_attack Recording notes: Left side: Ibanez FRM100 Right side: Guild X-175 with bigsby Middle: Bassculture Picco All rights reserved July 2016 by heartscore-music/ Dirk Radloff
