Description

Last/fourteenth track from the soundtrack of the new Ice Age movie, "Ice Age: Continental Drift (2012)" directed by Steve Martino. The soundtrack is scored by John Powell with a little bit of material from L.V. Beethoven in the last track, "Scrat's Fantasia" (this track). I was lucky to get my hands on this soundtrack a little bit earlier than I expected since it was released in my country a few days earlier than it was set to be released in the US. I personally enjoyed the score the first time I got to listen to it although I don't consider it nearly as good as some of other Powell's scores like How to Train Your Dragon or Rio (my personal favorite). Anyway it's still an excellent score filled with exiting cues with that fun and unique John Powell style. This score has it's differences and similarities to the last two scores that Powell composed from the Ice Age franchise. Something that I noticed (and quite often too...) is the use of material from "Ice Age: The Meltdown", which wasn't used too much in "Dawn of The Dinosaurs". The "Continental Drift" score also uses some material from "Dawn of the Dinosaurs" but has a more fun, adventurous, primal, and sometimes dangerous feel than the last two movies, (also pirate-ish, of course...) This is one of my favorite tracks apart from "Pirating the Pirates", "Hydraxes / Prison Talk", and "Land Bridge Trap". Don't forget to rate, comment, and subscribe! Enjoy!
