Description

Absinthe appears in many famous movies, including at least two that were nominated for Best Picture Oscars. These were Moulin Rouge and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (in which Sazeracs were drunk). Grand Hotel is (probably) the only movie in which absinthe is mentioned which won the Best Picture Oscar. In 1932. The film is set in Berlin at a time when there was still prohibition in the USA and when absinthe was only served in a few places (including famous hotels). The absinthe itself does not look very appetising!
