Gas Stations Of Yesteryear

Description

Gas stations today aren't what they used to be. When I was a kid, you could get gas, get your tires and oil checked. Get some car work done...but if you wanted bread and milk, you went to the 'Mom & Pop' down the street. All the really cool guys could be found hanging out at the gas station and for a dollar (hopefully pumped by one of those dream boats) you could cruise the main drag all night. TV and Green Stamps were given at most stations and while they were filling you up, you heard a little bell ring each time you racked up a quarter in gas. Personal service was a very big thing. Check your oil, wash your windows, get honest advice about your hoses and belts...all for free. No one had ever heard of 'self service'. It was a different time...as George Bush said: 'A kinder, gentler world'. Now gone with the wind. Some of the service station buildings were marvels in themselves. I hope you enjoy a trip down memory lane as you watch this show. If you enjoy this show, please tell your friends! As per usual, I do not own copyright toeither the music or the pictures. Be well!
