ALIBABA COULD BRING CREDIBILITY TO CHINESE INTERNET FIRMS ANCHOR QUESTION OFF-CAMERA (ENGLISH) SAYING: I want to get to your fund but of course I have to ask you about Alibaba in terms of this filing that we keep waiting for, it could be the biggest IPO? Are you going to buy the shares? JOHN WONG, MANAGER OF THE OBERWEIS CHINA OPPORTUNITIES FUND (ENGLISH) SAYING: Well, we're definitely looking into the company. It's definitely an interesting company. It's evolved from purely an ecommerce company to basically an Internet conglomerate right now. It has businesses in almost every part of the economy today. So it's definitely going to be an interesting IPO. What would be your determinant to buy the shares? Is it just how the pricing comes in or is it something beyond? Valuation is important and obviously its business strategy going forward so that's important for us also, and how the whole deal is structured is also important. ANCHOR QUESTION OFF-CAMERA (ENGLISH) SAYING: What will it mean for a potential additional Chinese IPOs for the US market depending on how it's received? JOHN WONG, MANAGER OF THE OBERWEIS CHINA OPPORTUNITIES FUND (ENGLISH) SAYING: Well, I think Alibaba definitely will bring a lot of visibility and credibility to the Chinese Internet companies listed here in the US. Obviously the last couple of years, we had some knocks on some of the smaller Chinese companies. But having said that, I was just back from a trip in China, in Beijing and Shanghai, I met a lot of Internet companies over there, and I must say that ecommerce has become a very big part of the Chinese economy. The government is pushing ecommerce as part of the domestic consumption theme in China. So many of the ecommerce companies that we have invested in have grown a lot and we still see a lot of opportunities in ecommerce in China.
