NW Stories: Environmentalist Filmmaker Tim Lewis

Description

Eugene-based documentarian Tim Lewis takes an unconventional approach to filmmaking. He records whatever interests him and makes it available for others to purchase and use in their own projects. This strategy has led Lewis and his camera into some sticky situations, putting him in the middle of Earth First! protests and the resulting police face-offs. In 2011 his footage from these protests was featured in the Academy Award-nominated documentary "If A Tree Falls: The Story of the Earth Liberation Front." At the heart of his work is his passion for the outdoors and a desire to protect the forests he and his daughter call “home.” Credits: Host Mychal Sargent Executive Producer Ed Madison Managing Producers Erik Bender Jordan Bentz Coordinating Producer Maya Lazaro Producers Dana Bredeweg Amanda Butt Garrett Guinn Sutton Raphael Editor Garrett Guinn Marketing Manager Sián Kavanagh Production Assistant Fahmo Mohammed Additional Footage Provided By Tim Lewis Music "Stormy Moods Orchestra" by Apache Tomcat "By Request" by Apache Tomcat "Cylinder Seven" by Chris Zabriskie Animation Softbox Produced In Partnership With Oregon Public Broadcasting Program Funded By Agora Center School of Journalism and Communication University of Oregon Special Thanks To OR Media University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication
