Description

Over the past decade, the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) has issued a series of analytical reports on federal contract spending for national security and across the government. This latest report analyzes contracting for products, services, and R&D by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and its key components. CSIS analyzed data from the Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS) to provide an in-depth look at current and recent trends in contract obligations as defense spending increased, then declined during the 2000–2013 study period. In particular, this report highlights the impact on DoD of sequestration in FY2013.
