Description

Comedian Rajiv Satyal sits down with renowned author/speaker Dr. Deepak Chopra to ask him a series of questions - some silly, some serious. ---------- Welcome to Episode 128 of The TanGent Show. This is the first podcast to have an accompanying video. It's almost as if the first few minutes are a necessary prologue to minute marker 14:40, where things truly pick up and Dr. Chopra makes a statement he never has before about the insane state of our world: The Human Experiment Has Failed. Notes: - Dr. Chopra speaks very softly until about 13:37 and then his voice becomes more audible. Apologies for the sound till that point. - When you get to the part about the starfish, you can Google "Starfish Story" to understand the reference. - We did not know how much time we had. He had a speech to give and we spoke till the knock on the door. Questions: - What do you consider yourself to be? - When did you know you were good? - What would it mean to pull a "you"? - Would you rather find a ghost or a snake in your house? - What is your Groundhog Day? - What is your first memory? - Have you made it? - Who has it figured out? - Where (heart, head, gut, soul) do you feel enlightenment? - How do you know people are still following you because your ideas are good vs. because you're Deepak Chopra? - Has humanity failed or succeeded? - Who loves you more - God or your parents? - Do our systems (capitalism, socialism, etc.) fail simply because we consume more than we produce? Dr. Chopra proves himself yet again to be one of the premier philosophers of our day, sharing the five causes of suffering (via the Vedantas) and dropping gems like "You're the observation deck for the Universe to look at Itself." And he puts the "pun" in "pundit." Enjoy. ---------- © 2015 - Rajiv Satyal. All Rights Reserved.
