Hello Kelly Hello and good afternoon. Today we have a big surge of early summer air coming into nation, so it's going to get even hotter than yesterday. Yes, it sure is getting hot... and the sun is getting even stronger. That's right and the increasing temperatures can cause food to spoil quickly, so we all have to watch out for food poisoning. That's right. Food poisoning is more common in summer than at any other time of the year. It's important to keep your food in cooler places and you'll have to be extra careful with raw fish and shellfish... because they tend to spoil easily,... so try to eat fresh or well cooked food. Now, as we go into the afternoon, the lingering fog will soon be followed by sunny skies, which may be a bit too strong in parts of the southern provinces. We'll have highs in the low 30s nationwide. Also, the UV index will be very high during the day, so make sure to protect yourself from excessive sun exposure. Now, tomorrow we'll get a preview of summer,.. with conditions similar to what we'll be having today, except a bit drier and hotter,... so it'll definitely be shorts and t-shirt weather. But temperatures will cool down during the evening hours,... so don't be surprised by the temperatures change from day to night. Moving over to our satellite map... We're currently under the influence of a high pressure system that's giving us clear, sunny skies, but we also have gusty winds blowing along the east coast, where temperatures will be a few degrees lower than in the west. Finally, checking on today's readings... Seoul will get up to 27 degrees in the afternoon. Daegu will jump up to 31 and Gwangju will see a high of 30,... while Busan makes it to 25. Down on Jeju Island, there will be a few passing clouds throughout the day. Daejeon hits 29 and Mount Geumgang tops out at 22.
