No idea who these ladies are but they were good sports! P.S. I don't think the black lace face yoke will catch on! Register on www.taradawnrun.ie A BRIEF BUT WONDERFUL HISTORY OF THE TARA DAWN RUN Adventures come in all shapes and sizes; some are epic journeys and others are personal achievements. The Tara Dawn Run is both epic and personal. How it started... Started 7 years ago in 2007 by local lads James Gibbons and Shay Sheridan, the Tara Dawn Run was inaugurated as a fundraising event in aid of the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda. This was personal for James and his wife Lisa as their baby girl, Kate, was born prematurely the previous year and the staff in the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit were amazing in how they looked after her in those first fragile months of life. So well in fact that James and his best buddy Shay felt they had to do something to say thank you. The lads wouldn't be the lads if there wasn't a twist so they decided that their charity fun-run would be held at 4am to coincide with the sun rising over the Hill of Tara. In 2012, the heavens opened up and we had torrential rain; Noah's Ark would have struggled to cope with downpour. But that didn't deter the fantastic Tara Dawn Runners; a thousand hardy guys and gals, singing and dancing and most importantly raising money for Crumlin Children's Hospital. Yes, it was wet but it was wild! Those who were there know the amazing feeling it brings. Nearly 1000 souls coming together to make a difference with only the experience itself as the reward; walkers, joggers, runners, a 70 year old and a 7 month old, a man dressed as a bumble bee and one dressed as bosco, live music, the Tara Dawn Run Sausage Sambo, the Wildman of Tara, the beautiful sunshine or rain and the good vibes.
