Description

Photographer Donald Lokuta's exhibition "George Segal in Black and White" is also a book of the same name. Lokuta met Segal in 1984, when he asked to take a portrait of him. He ended up becoming his studio assistant, photography-buddy, and good friend. From this time until Segal's death in 2000, Lokuta took tens of thousands of photographs. "State of the Arts" meets Donald Lokuta, George Segal's daughter Rena Segal, and Zimmerli Art Museum curator Donna Gustafson in this story. The exhibition of Lokuta's photographs is at the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers, New Brunswick through July 31, 2015. Produced by Susan Wallner; Videography by Joe Conlon; Narration by Dan Gordon.
