Xbox One’s lack of games in preparation for E3, Ubisoft teases six Xbox One releases during the console’s first year on the market, and Electronic Arts’ promise for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, THIS IS NICK’S GAMING VIEW! Hello everyone and welcome to Nick’s Gaming View, you are here with your host, Nick McCandless. As expressed on yesterday’s Nick’s Gaming View, I, along with the many other gamers who tuned into Microsoft’s unveiling of the Xbox One, were disappointed by the lack of games shown for the console but according to Don Mattrick, President of Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft, they are saving up for E3 2013, “Look, Xbox is created by gamers for gamers, so that’s our core. That’s our DNA. That’s what we do. We decided that we were going to do an unveil, tell people the name, let them see the box, let them see our vision. And we’re going to show such amazing content at E3. Be planned to be blown away.” With E3 just a couple weeks away, gamers are in for a battle between Sony and Microsoft and if all is true according to Microsoft, we’ve only seen the beginning, as I am sure applies to Sony as well. While there aren’t many exclusives known for the Xbox One up to this point, third party publishers everywhere are making announcements such as Electronic Arts with the confirmation of Battlefield 4 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One along with their sports titles and Ubisoft with Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and Watch Dogs. In fact, Ubisoft has revealed in a press release that the Xbox One will see six next-gen games within its first year of existence including the already confirmed Assassin’s Creed IV and Watch Dogs. With Ubisoft known for making big announcements at E3, I’m sure Ubisoft has a few surprises up their sleeves to help launch the beginning of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Wrapping up Nick’s Gaming View, Electronic Arts has announced that despite their heavy involvement in the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, they are committed to publishing on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 through at least 2017 thanks to their loyal fans and established markets. While it would be ignorant to cease involvement with current generation consoles any sooner, it’s comforting to hear confirmation from the company themselves. Well that concludes today’s episode of Nick’s Gaming View but be sure to follow me on Twitter @NickMcCandless and check back daily for Nick’s Gaming View for your daily access pass to all things gaming.
