Description

The Battle Of Narva was one of the first battles during the Great Northern War where the Russians with over 40.000 soldiers besieged the Swedish held city Narva. The Swedes had no other choise than to attack the Russian defence positions. The battle started 1700 the 20th November when the Swedish attacked with an crucial but simple plan. Leaders: Sweden, Karl XII or Charles XII of Sweden and Generallöjtnat Carl Gustaf Rehnskiöld Russia, Charles Eugéne de Croy Force: Sweden, 10.610 soldiers Russia, 37.000-45.000 soldiers Losses: Sweden, 667 dead and about 1200 wounded Russia, about 10.000-15.000 dead and 25.000-35.000 captured Outcome: The Swedish won the battle with almost no forces lost, the Russians were now in danger but the Swedish king Charles XII had to go to Polen beacuse of war and the Russians now made their army more modern than it was before and during the Battle of Narva.
