Description

Ryan Wetzel, a member of the Blackfeet Native American tribe in Montana, is arguably the most underrated athlete to ever come out of the State. He descends from a family of great athletes. One of which is his father Don Wetzel Sr. who played for the Cut Bank Wolves in the mid 1960's and University of Montana Grizzlies in the late 60's early 70's. Ryan attended Billings Central Catholic High School in the mid to late 1990's. After a dominant career at the high school level, Ryan would go on to play basketball at NJCAA Division I Northwest College of Powell Wyoming. After two years with the Trappers, Wetzel would sign and play for NCAA Division II Montana State University Billings. In 2006, Ryan turned pro and for the next 4 years he played in various leagues and national tournaments. Following a stint with a Native American National Team, Ryan would take his game to Germany and play a preseason with various teams. Following his Germany experience Wetzel would retire in 2009. He is now a high school coach in Montana. (Note: ALL dunks in this video were done on regulation height basketball rims-10 feet).
