Description

EcoCAR 2 is a three-year competition that gives students the opportunity to gain real-world automotive engineering experience while striving to improve the environmental impact and energy efficiency of an already highly-efficient vehicle: the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu. East Tennessee Clean Fuels Coalition (ETCleanFuels) and the University of Tennessee Knoxville (UTK) EcoCar2 Team have worked closely in Year 3 of the program to advance alternative fuels and advanced vehicle technologies in their communities, state and nation. Jonathan Overly, Executive Director of ETCleanFuels, explains how the area Clean Cities Coalition has promoted EcoCar2 via outreach events, coverage in FuelsFix and through educational programming. Mark Smith, Dean at L&N STEM Academy, details how alternative fuels projects are reshaping the high school experiences of his students. Scott Curran, UTK EcoCar2 Outreach Advisor, opines on what makes EcoCar and Clean Cities Collaboration effective.
