The JHU Digital Media Center (DMC) presents Automatic Cloudbuster Room with music performances by Ami Dang, Little Flowers Liz Meredith, & Jesse Stiles Interactive audio/visual installation, 2pm-7pm Music concert, 9pm-11pm https://www.facebook.com/events/1403857166550938/ Automatic Cloudbuster Room - a multimedia event featuring an audio-visual installation by Jesse Stiles and music performances by Ami Dang, Little Flowers, Liz Meredith, & Jesse Stiles. Automatic Cloudbuster Room is a responsive video and sound environment designed by electronic artist & musician Jesse Stiles. The system makes use of 3D scanning cameras to create and project real-time 3-dimensional models of viewers and performers who enter the installation, giving the illusion of multiple moving cameras creating many projections transformed into impressionistic fields of light that shift through space and interact with sound. The result is something like a digital hall of mirrors, with many large high contrast "reflections" of the viewer from multiple perspectives, projected onto giant curtains lining two walls, floor to ceiling. The piece will be presented in two parts. Firstly, it is presented as an audiovisual installation that is open to the public from 2PM to 7PM, including generative audio composition by Jesse Stiles (an ever-changing and growing soundtrack of samples, field recordings, and electronic music) creating an interactive space for the visitors to explore. The music concert will take place from 9PM to 11PM. In the concert section of the event, the Automatic Cloudbuster Room scanners will be focused on the performers and will react to the music that is performed. The concert will feature performances by Ami Dang, Little Flowers, Liz Meredith, and Jesse Stiles.
