Director, Technical Operations

Frequency is seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Technical Operations. The Director of Technical Operations oversees and manages all ongoing aspects of the broadcast and streaming operations and support for Frequency distributed live linear channels. The ideal candidate will have a solid working knowledge of live distribution, content ingestion, and Network Operations Center (NOC) with an emphasis on live streaming services and workflows.

The role will guide current and future planning and innovation of operations in origination and distribution and will supervise the technical operations group that includes broadcast operations, ingestion pipeline, technical support, and NOC working closely with engineering to resolve and execute all technical and operational items. The role is a remote position that reports to the Vice President of Operations.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day to day operations of the Technical Operations group, including the entire video workflow from transcoding pipeline, playout encoding, live events, stream delivery infrastructure, support, and NOC
  • Serve as technical subject matter expert on all aspects of broadcast operations and collaborate on defining new requirements across the customer development, onboarding, product, and customer success teams
  • Identify, document and work with support team and vendors to implement corrective solutions for live channel incidents
  • Facilitate Technical meetings with prospective and active partners and customers
  • Maintain documentation of process, maintenance, configuration, system failures and resolution
  • Escalate and document any technical feature gaps, feed health status, questions or concerns to identify and implement process improvements
  • Cultivate relationships with current vendors and partners to improve quality of service and experience
Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years experience working in a similar role at a video streaming provider or platform, ideally in the video broadcast or connected TV space
  • 3+ years management experience
  • Proven video streaming and media workflow experience and in-depth knowledge and understanding of streaming technologies
  • Hands-on knowledge of content-delivery standards such as MRSS, JSON, SFTP, etc.
  • Ability to effectively generate project success within diverse and cross-functional groups, managing schedules and priorities
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

Technical Account Manager

Frequency is seeking a talented, self-motivated Technical Account Manager to act in a customer service role as part of our growing operations team. The Technical Account Manager oversees and manages all ongoing aspects of the customer relationship from a technical and operational standpoint, participating in the ongoing maintenance of all customer facing products, including data quality consistency, issue resolution, and routine check-ins with other Frequency team members.

The Technical Account Manager will also be responsible for the technical scoping of customer onboarding efforts, working with customers’ engineering, customer readiness, and customer services teams. The role is a remote position that reports to Frequency’s Vice President of Operations.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Manage operational relationship with customers, including scheduling regular meetings, service requests, providing feedback to ensure all products purchased meet and exceed customer expectations
  • Serve as technical subject matter expert on all aspects of operations and collaborate on defining new requirements for larger scale customer onboarding across the customer development, product, and customer readiness teams
  • Onboard first party content creators, third party content aggregators, and multi-channel network content providers for Video On Demand (VOD) and Over-The-Top (OTT) in Frequency's Studio Platform
  • Create and maintain reasonable project plans and schedules to manage customer expectations (both service and content provider)
  • Track and communicate any new product features and services with customers, proactively identifying opportunities to upsell technical solutions
  • Act as liaison between content providers, service providers, and internal stakeholders for project success
  • Onboard new distribution end-points for Video On Demand (VOD), Linear, Over-The-Top (OTT) and other new business lines
  • Track and report required project deliverables using appropriate tools
  • Escalate and document any technical feature gaps, feed health status, questions, concerns, raise as necessary within the core operations team  to identify and implement process improvements
  • Provide weekly reporting and forecasts to management

Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience working in a similar role at a technical service provider or platform, ideally a SaaS company, i.e. consulting, system engineering, professional services or other technical field support

  • Hands-on knowledge of Internet technologies, including HTTP/S protocols and use of protocol analyzers, such as Web Inspector, Fiddler, LiveHTTPHeaders, and Firebug.

Software Engineer (Java)

Frequency is seeking a Software Engineer (Java) to join our team in the design and development of Frequency Studio. The Software Engineer will join a team that builds an integrated product suite of enterprise applications for linear channel origination and distribution in the connected television and cloud video industry. The Software Engineer will participate in the technical design and implementation of one or more components of the product. This role works closely with the rest of the cross-functional team to produce design documents, implement product features, and develop and execute unit tests and reports. The position is remote and reports to Frequency’s Senior Vice President of Product and Platform.

  • Responsible for designing, developing, and delivering web and microservice APIs-based applications.

Director of Marketing

Frequency is seeking an experienced Director of Marketing to support our content marketing and lead acquisition efforts. The role is instrumental in amplifying Frequency’s offering and identifying opportunities to grow the top of the funnel customer base, bringing new customers to Frequency while also helping move existing leads through the sales pipeline. The position is remote and reports to Frequency’s Vice President of Operations.

You Will
  • Own, develop, and execute on new content ideas, strategies, and campaigns to foster engagement and grow the Frequency customer funnel
  • Manage a monthly editorial calendar that aligns with relevant events and product releases that contribute to Frequency objectives
  • Partner with sales and product teams to create comprehensive marketing campaigns around new features, services, and promotions
  • Plan and execute paid search and paid media campaigns
  • Drive optimizations through A/B testing, ad copy testing, and segmentation testing

Senior Software Engineer - Video Streaming

Frequency is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team to help us build the products that are defining the future of TV. You will work on the world’s leading linear streaming platform, Frequency Studio, powering video experiences that reach hundreds of millions of viewers.

Sales Development Representative

Frequency is expanding its Business Development team and is seeking a Sales Development Representative. This role will be dedicated to expanding Frequency’s sales pipeline by generating new leads, and prospecting for potential clients in the growing free, ad-supported streaming television (FAST) industry. The role will report to Frequency’s Senior Vice President of Business Development & Distribution Partnerships.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Identify and target qualified prospects
  • Develop creative prospecting strategies
  • Grow sales pipeline through both inbound and outbound sales efforts and marketing campaigns
  • Actively engage with leads through follow-up communications
  • Work together with both the Marketing and Product organizations

Product Manager

Frequency is looking for a world class Product Manager to join our team to help us build the products that are defining the future of TV. You will work on the world’s leading linear streaming platform, Frequency Studio, powering video experiences that reach hundreds of millions of viewers.

You will be the product owner for key functional areas of an expanding digital platform and work with both our internal engineering team, other teams at Frequency, and customers to deliver engaging experiences and scalable solutions.

The position reports to the Senior Vice President of Product and Platform. You can work remotely, or we can secure co-working space for you.

You will:
  • In partnership with Senior Vice President of Product and Platform, build out a product roadmap and socialize them to stakeholders throughout the business
  • Own end-to-end feature delivery for roadmap items, small enhancements, and bug fixes, including functional requirements and any required documentation (flow diagrams, prototypes, contract mapping, etc.), creating and prioritizing user stories and documenting deployment and post-deployment activities.
  • Create, update, monitor and clarify detailed user stories in JIRA
  • Communicate desired scope and features to designers and work with them on designs
  • Monitor performance and measure impact (adoption, production issues, etc.) of product enhancements / releases to, if needed, drive clarity on product iteration
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of product manager experience, ideally with video streaming or SaaS products
  • Strong technical savvy; ability to work and communicate effectively with engineers and UX Design
  • Expertise documenting requirements that translate business needs into technical requirements clearly
  • Strong written and oral communication skills to effectively interact and facilitate discussions with a wide variety of users/customers/cross functional teams across the business
  • Ability to juggle multiple concurrent projects

Executive Assistant to the CEO

Frequency is looking for someone smart, enthusiastic and hard working to join our rapidly growing team. You’ll work directly for the CEO as his Executive Assistant, and will be responsible for a high volume of tasks including schedule coordination, creating and maintaining organizational systems, and handling travel and event logistics. You’ll also support various functions of the Frequency leadership team, working closely with business development, operations and engineering.

You’ve got to be insanely well organized, able to think through and prioritize a variety of tasks, be highly competent in online office and productivity systems, and enjoy the life of a company that despite its growth still thinks and operates like a startup.

You’ll be interacting with lots of people, often at very senior levels, so maintaining a cool and positive attitude is essential. You’ll also need to be able to operate with minimal guidance or supervision at times, and be good at anticipating problems while managing multiple priorities and inputs.

You will:
  • Develop and maintain schedules and prioritize activities for the CEO
  • Coordinate multiple staff meetings including setting agendas and identifying action items
  • Manage domestic and international travel itineraries and expenses
