"Bullying Prevention in the Promotion of a Positive School Climate: Effective Principles and Practices" — June 20, 2012 Over 500 teachers, administrators, counselors, psychologists, law enforcement personnel and others, gathered at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Performing Arts Center at Charlottesville High School to discuss bullying prevention efforts in schools across the Commonwealth of Virginia. The conference was co-hosted by Youth-Nex, the Virginia departments of Education, Health and Criminal Justice Services; the Albemarle/Charlottesville Safe Schools/Healthy Students Project ; and the Virginia Department of Education Region 5 Training and Technical Assistance Center at James Madison University. The conference brought together national scholars on bullying presenting new research findings on effective methods to reduce bullying.
