Description
The song "Butterfly Sting" is from her indie record 'Whitney Duncan'. Song lyrics in the information below. Whitney Duncan is an American country music artist, who was the fifth place finalist on the fifth season of Nashville Star. She has released one studio album and has charted on the U.S. country singles charts with "When I Said I Would" and "Skinny Dippin'," as well as a Christmas single and guest appearance on a Kenny Rogers single which was released before her Nashville Star appearance. She also made a music video with Kenny Rogers, too. She briefly appeared on the country charts in July of 2004for one week at number sixty, with "My world is Over" a duet with Kenny Rogers. Although the label did not release an album,Duncan resurfaced in 2008 with new music produced by John Shanks and Mark Bright on Warner Bros. Nashville and in an interview with New Country Star.com. Duncan's debut album, Right Road Now, was originally slated for a May 2009 release, but was pushed back due to the lackluster success of the singles. The album was released digitally and through Amazon.com on compact disc on April 20, 2010. After years of performing, Whitney made her way to Nashville where she grew into her own as an artist. She has worked with top-shelf producers including Mark Bright (Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts) and John Shanks (Kelly Clarkson, Sheryl Crow). She has developed such close relationships with her Nashville producers, they gifted her with a Lake Placid Blue Fender Strat electric guitar. In Spring of 2010, Whitney had the unique and unforgettable opportunity to travel overseas to visit and play for the troops in Iraq and Kuwait. The trip made a significant impact on Whitney and her bandmates, it even inspired a tattoo. Whitney's new tattoo isn't the only result of her inspiration from overseas. This and other amazing experiences Whitney has had over the last few years of her career are serving as material for her new project. Currently, she is in the studio with producer Patrick Davis working on new music. Her anxiously awaiting fans can expect to hear new material from Whitney in 2011. Whitney appeared on Survivor: South Pacific that started airing on September 14, 2011 on CBS. Whitney Duncan: "Well, I actually applied for Nicaragua and was talking to them about going on that one and it didn't work out at the time because I was with a major label. So they called me for South Pacific and I was stoked." "I'm a fan of the show and I think it's a great, great game and I actually have all the more respect for it now after playing it and seeing how legit it is. I mean, it's real. It's hard. It's easy to sit on the couch and watch all these seasons and be like, "Oh that challenge? I could do that? I could totally do that. He should have done this. He should have done that." "But to be out there actually in the game, it's hard. I mean, not gonna lie, you're starving. You don't know for sure who to trust. Dawn and Keith were the only people in the game that I really trusted. So, it's just a great game. I have tons of respect for it." In the episode on November 30, 2012 Whitney lost a challenge that would have allowed her to stay one more week. Once at the Tribal Vote Whitney was voted off the island. On Redemption Island she lost her 'second chance' to Ozzie to go back into the game. Home: http://www.whitneyduncan.com/ Label: http://www.warnerbrosrecords.com/ Butterfly Sting You think about it all you want, Fidel with it like a rubix cube. Plan it out like a cross country drive, There's a reason they say love is cruel. Don't you know, know you're on a treadmill Try to run, but it's useless anymore. If you've ever broke a heart, Threw the batteries away, Don't be so sure they won't start back up again. But everyone holding a beer or a bible Is gonna tell you a different thing. So much for the wisdom that the wise man brings. Sometimes beautiful looks so safe, But there's trouble underneath tho...
