Carolina Panthers Training Camp in Spartanburg, SC

4y ago

The NFL's Carolina Panthers will hold their annual summer training camp -- including Rookie of the Year Cam Newton from the Auburn Tigers and Captain Munnerlyn from the South Carolina Gamecocks -- at the football practice fields and facilities at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The camp will begin with a Spartanburg County Mayor's Ball Run to the stadium, and a fan appreciation party on Saturday, July 28. The party is a favorite opening event for camp and will feature live entertainment, food, fun and games. Making special appearances will be the Panthers' Top Cats dance corps, which will lead the crowd in a "curly shuffle," and the Panthers' Mascot Sir Purr. There will be drawings for Panthers souvenirs and a chance to see the first practice of the season. Following opening night, there will be at least one public practice per day until Wednesday, August 15, and fans can sit on the hillside or bleachers watching their favorite Panthers go through drills and plays. Following practice, many of the players will sign autographs for fans. For children, a special service called "Panthers Pals" will be available throughout camp. Up to five children who register at the Visit Spartanburg booth at the stadium will be selected to spend extra time with the team. They'll walk on the field with the team to and from practice, and they'll get a T-shirt. Stay on top of the camp's daily schedule by visiting, and learn more about where to stay, eat and play in Spartanburg by visiting or by calling toll-free to 1-800-374-8326.
