Will the Venom solo movie feature Flash Thompson instead of Eddie Brock in the symbiote suit? The Amazing Spider-Man actor Chris Zylka may have the answer. Last night may have been Peter Parker's night at The Amazing Spider-Man premiere, but it was Flash Thompson that was making the big news. While talking with MTV, Chris Zylka who plays Flash Thompson, Peter Parker's high school bully in the film, was asked about a recent storyline in the comic world where instead of Parker rival and Daily Bugle photographer Eddie Brock was wearing the Venom suit, it was Flash Thompson taking on the role of the anti-hero. Zylka responded that he was aware of the storyline and with fingers crossed hinted that he may just be in talks with the studio to take on the lead role in the planned spin-off. We recently revealed that Spider-Man producer Avi Arad wanted to tie The Amazing Spider-Man and Venom universes together, similar to what Marvel has done with The Avengers team. Turning Thompson into Venom would be a logical step in achieving that, but he also said, "It's an Eddie Brock story." With no mention of Thompson, it seems highly doubtful, but he could just be holding the Thompson storyline a secret. Another positive to replacing Eddie Brock with Flash Thompson would be distancing the film from Sam Raimi's portrayal of Brock and Venom in Spider-Man 3, which many Venom fans were none too happy about.. So now we put it to you, our experts. Would you rather see Eddie Brock remain as Venom in the planned solo film or do you think Flash Thompson would be a smarter way to go?
