SUBSCRIBE: http://bit.ly/FashionTVSUB http://www.FashionTV.com/videos PARIS - While many might have thought they were seeing the same signature Valentino style created by designer duo Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, albeit in navy blue, yellow, and pink, it was an edgier Valentino couture, which just a hint of the signature looks from runways past that we've come to know from these two designers. Ironically, we thought the dark wave passed last season with ready-to-wear Fall 2012 but the duo brought it back this time around for couture, with a collection that was "sensual but severe" as Maria Grazia Chiuri herself put it. Gone were reds, replaced with navy blues that were luxe but still romantic in the typical Valentino style (Note: the reds were there but only later on). As was the floral chiffon later on in the show that seemed to be designed with a regal hand. For the first time, they harped on brocade but they pushed it in yellow. The elegant, modest Valentino of seasons past is still with a deep and dramatic spin that leaves us wanting more.
