Description
The Thai government has banned the fast rising sport of cage fighting or mixed martial arts, terming it brutal. But it seems the government decision comes to protect a very popular Thai sport - Muay Thai, or kick-boxing, which is part of the local culture. The government sports authority says it wants to protect it from outside influences. But the people behind mixed martial arts have vowed to fight the ban. Al Jazeera's Wayne Hay reports from Bangkok.
